Why Choose Project Management Professional (PMP) certification?

While PMP certification is one of the most credible certifications in the Project management spectrum, it is important to understand the rationale behind its utility for Veterans. Project Management very closely resembles the Veterans’ work profile. Project management in its core scope is very similar to military planning. All the phases considered in projects like Initiating, Planning, Monitoring, Controlling and Closing are executed in the military as well. This directly makes project management the best line of work for veterans post-service.

If a veteran is working at the profile of a planner, he or she is the project manager of real work. That is not all, the qualities of veterans are directly transferable in project management spectrum. Factors that directly contribute to veterans’ success in project management spectrum are:
  1. Military and Government has a high project-oriented environment
  2. Through their practice in service, veterans are acquainted with handling complex details
  3. Being responsive and flexible help them adapt and preview adaptation needs in project management spectrum
  4. Veterans are well versed in developing efficient communications channels and norms. Communication is another major factor that contributes to project success

With the relevance in the core task and having the base qualities required to become successful project managers, project management has huge scope for veterans. With 932,720 professionals holding PMP credentials, PMP certification can also connect veterans to the global forum of elite and efficient project leaders along with providing other benefits.

Optimizing Stakeholder Engagement
